The Positive Museums project formally starts in 2017 and is the result of a collaboration between Universidad Tecmilenio and the Santa Lucía International Festival, which takes place each year in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Its goal is for the participants in the activities to identify and practice positive emotions through workshops, guided tours and other activities that help build wellbeing environments through socio-emotional education and the development of positive habits.
This year, with the purpose of inviting more people from different locations, the Positive Museums program will be carried out virtually and free of charge, with artistic and cultural experiences that will invite people to practice positive emotions.
A Positive Museum transforms the museum experience so visitors identify and practice positive emotions.
All experiences of a Positive Museum have a scientific foundation based on Positive Psychology science (Seligman, 2016) and the Art as Therapy approach (De Botton & Armstrong, 2017).
Explore positive emotions while you enjoy workshops, guided tours and events about art, history and science, from September 20 to November 7 in the following museums.
Through the official website of Escobedo Government, Positive Museums and those defined by the Festival and the project, where citizens can take a virtual tour of the five different rooms of the Municipal History Museum, in which they can learn about the experiences and values of our ancestors, from pre-Hispanic times until today.
